Beautiful, functional and regenerative landscapes begin with the right decisions

Most landholders know they want to improve their land.

Few know where to start.

Regeneration often focuses on compliance or carbon outcomes.

Liff Studio helps you understand the whole property — from the house and lived landscape through to ecological restoration — creating a clear pathway forward.

Liff  Studio

Liff Studio is led by Thomas Gooch, a Landscape Architect with over two decades of experience.

Thomas uses Landscape Architecture, systems thinking and entrepreneurship to help people make better decisions about land.

Over the past 20+ years he has worked across civic, public and residential projects, from high-end residential landscapes across South East Queensland and the Northern Rivers through to Melbourne's Greenline redevelopment for the City of Melbourne and internationally.

He previously founded the environmental intelligence startup Office of Planetary Observations and co-authored the Declaration of the Rights of the Moon — exploring how landscape practice can better bridge planetary systems, living ecologies and constructed outcomes.

Today his work focuses on helping landholders navigate complexity, identify opportunities and create beautiful, functional and regenerative landscapes.

His passion is exploring how practice can work across scales — from gardens to biospheres — while remaining grounded in place, craft and human experience.

We are intentionally selective.

Projects are led personally, approached with care, and long time horizons.

We value alignment over scale and depth over speed, pursuing beauty in all we do.
